about us

Inspire Acupuncture has highly qualified and experienced acupuncturists who have studied in China. There are two clinics in Christchurch. Acupuncture has been practised in the Far East for thousands of years and is an important part of Oriental medicine. Acupuncture is the practice of penetrating the skin with thin, metallic needles. The philosophy behind acupuncture is that energy lines or meridians circulate around the body. These meridians contain our Qi or energy flow. It is when this Qi is disrupted through the body that imbalance and illness occurs.

During acupuncture, fine metal needles are applied to specific parts of the human body. Energy is redirected to where it is needed most to restore the body’s balance to treat diseases and relieve pain.

Once the practitioner has examined the underlying cause, the most appropriate treatment for the patient can be selected . Every patient is treated as an individual. The core principal for a treatment is to allow the body to rebalance itself to resolve an illness.

Our acupuncture treatment plan also includes other techniques such as cupping, Guasha, moxibustion or acupressure.
